Since starting the South Carolina Cremation and Memorial Society in 2000, we have observed the evolution of how the public views funeral homes and cremation societies, and we have adjusted accordingly.

Being one of the original, death care providers in South Carolina to focus on simple, affordable cremations, a lot of people were watching us.

More importantly, there were a great number of people who wanted to tell us their story about going to the neighborhood funeral home and asking for cremation services or simple, burial services and being treated like second-class citizens/customers.

In 2006, we built a new facility in Graniteville, SC that included space for small services. We adjusted the name to South Carolina Cremation & Burial Society, reflecting that we also provided burial services. As time went on, we did help some families with burials, but we continued to be best known for our cremation services. We also observed more and more people from the Midlands of South Carolina were seeking out our services, but were concerned that we were located in Aiken County. As we continued to grow, we decided that being centrally located in South Carolina would make it easier for folks who wanted to visit us personally.

In May of 2013, we moved to our current location at 138 Corley Mill Rd. Lexington, SC 29072, on the grounds of Woodridge Memorial Park. We are sharing resources with Woodridge Funeral Home and together, we will provide simple and affordable solutions for burials and cremations.

Over the years, we have established a network of associates across the United States and the world. We stand ready to assist you, whether death occurs here at home in the Midlands, while visiting friends in Milwaukee or even while on vacation in the Bahamas; the staff members at South Carolina Cremation Society are ready and able to assist with practical and affordable solutions
